How we work
Editorial Policy
Last updated: September 12, 2026
The Art of Agriculture exists to serve working farmers, market gardeners, homesteaders and serious hobbyists. This document explains how we source, write, review and publish everything on this site.
Who writes for us
Every article on this site is either written directly by our editor, Mostafa Abdel Hamid, or by a contributor whose credentials and hands-on experience our editor has verified. At present, all published guides are written and reviewed by Mostafa Abdel Hamid; any future guest contributor will be named on the article.
Editorial review
Every article — whether written by our editor or a contributor — is reviewed against these standards before publication:
- Every statistical claim is traced to a primary source (peer-reviewed research, government extension data, or a named practitioner speaking from documented experience).
- Every product recommendation reflects our editor's or a contributor's actual use of the product.
- Where practice differs by region or climate, we note it explicitly.
- Opinions are clearly distinguished from established fact.
How we source
We prioritize primary sources in this order: USDA-NRCS and equivalent government extension publications, peer-reviewed journal articles, direct interviews with practitioners, and reputable trade publications. We do not cite unattributed blog posts or content-farm articles.
Sponsored content and advertising
We accept contextual advertising through networks including Google AdSense. Advertising has no influence on our editorial coverage. If we ever publish sponsored content, it will be clearly labeled at the top of the article and segregated from editorial coverage.
Independence
We do not accept payment, gifts, or free equipment in exchange for editorial coverage. Where we recommend equipment, tools or books, we may include affiliate links (disclosed in each article and in our Disclaimer); our recommendations reflect independent editorial judgment.
Corrections
Corrections are handled transparently — see our Fact-Checking Policy for details. If you believe an article contains an error, please write to mostafaabdelhmeed111@gmail.com.
Comments and community
We welcome reader questions and disagreements. Our editor personally reads every message sent through the contact form. Substantive challenges to our reporting may result in updated or corrected articles.
Diversity of practice
Agriculture is not monolithic. We cover conventional, organic, biodynamic and regenerative operations with the same standard of rigor. Our editorial stance is pro-farmer, pro-soil, and pro-evidence — not pro-any-single-methodology.
