How we work
Fact-Checking Policy
Last updated: September 12, 2026
Accuracy is the whole point of a trade publication. This page describes exactly how we verify facts before publication and how we handle corrections when we get something wrong.
Pre-publication checks
Before an article goes live, our editor verifies:
- Every numeric claim (yields, prices, application rates, costs) against at least one primary source.
- Every named study or agency reference against the original document.
- Every quote against the original recording or written source.
- Every equipment or product mention against manufacturer documentation and, where possible, hands-on use.
What counts as a primary source
In descending order of preference: peer-reviewed research, USDA-NRCS or state extension publications, government agricultural statistics (USDA-NASS, FAO), published books by recognized practitioners, and direct on-record interviews. We do not source facts from unattributed blog posts or AI-generated content.
Corrections process
When a reader flags a possible error, our editor personally reviews the claim against the original source within five business days. If we confirm the error:
- The article is corrected inline with the accurate information.
- A dated "correction" note is added at the bottom of the article, briefly stating what changed.
- The article's "Last updated" date is refreshed.
Substantial errors that could affect a reader's farming or purchasing decisions are additionally flagged with a note at the top of the article for at least 30 days.
How to submit a correction
Email mostafaabdelhmeed111@gmail.com with the article URL, the claim you believe is inaccurate, and — if possible — a link to a contradicting primary source. We reply to every correction submission.
Handling of opinions
Opinion, judgment calls, and recommended practice are labeled as such in the text. We do not "correct" opinions, but we do issue clarifying updates when readers point out that an opinion has been stated with more certainty than the underlying evidence supports.
Standing correction log
A running list of significant corrections is maintained internally by our editor and available on request for readers researching our editorial record.
